April Favorites

Ok first of all, HOW is April already over? Honestly, since I started my full-time job in March, these two months have just flown by for me. I’ve tried quite a few new products this month and just thought I would do a round-up of some of my favorite things.

 

 

 

Stand Up- Desk

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me complaining about how AWFUL my back has felt since working full time. Even with regular exercise my body constantly felt stiff. It might not seem like that big of a change to just stand up more, but believe me, the more I use my stand up desk, the more relaxed my entire body feels (+ my productivity has sky rocketed!). I love this desk in particular because it just sits right on top of my normal desk and I can adjust it as I like. I first started just trying to stand up every couple hours and worked my way up to using it for the entire day at times now. (Plus it burns calories!) It is so nice to know I can choose healthy habits even during a long day’s work.

SaladPower

You may have seen my smoothie bowl two-part series using these SaldPower veggie juices (or have seen them constantly featured on my Instagram lately) I am ALL about a drink I can take on the go, especially one with as many vitamins and nutrition as these. (Pro Tip-I’ve been taking these lately when I go to visit my boyfriend just in case there are no veggies at his place. Great for when you’re on the go + aren’t sure of what your food options will be!)

 

Lemon Squeezer

I use this gadget EVERY single day. If you regularly have lemon in your water (lemon and mint water!), in your tea, and on top of salads then you need one of these. Honestly, once you have one you’ll have no idea how you ever lived without this kind of efficiency.

Stretching

Okay, so this one goes along with my entire back ache schpiel from the stand-up desk fav. I was desperate and trying ANYTHING to help my back, and not only did taking stretching breaks during the day help my back (obviously), it actually just became a peaceful moment to clear my head as well. Plus I’d love to be as flexible as when I used to cheer in high school, so there’s always that hope too, right? Some days I will set my alarm every hour and just take a 5-minute stretch break, or I will get a 10-minute yoga/stretch session in the AM/PM. You don’t have to do an hour of yoga to be able to do it! Do what you can.

 

Kombucha

This addictive goodness known as kombucha is what my BFF and I have been referring to as goddess juice. After drinking this fermented tea you will seriously feel as though life has reenergized you and pushed you out into the world to do anything you dreamed of. But really, maybe it’s the bit of alcohol content in it? My best friend is currently being a scientist and trying to make her own and we’ve been learning more about the benefits of this magical drink.

  • healthy digestion

 

Peanut Butter

I know this is nothing new, but I have re-fallen in love with peanut butter this month. I love getting a ton of healthy fats into my diet and peanut butter always feels like a bit of a treat. It is important to watch the portion sizes, but these Justin’s packets make that so much easier.
